About The artist

Hi, I'm May Hughes, the artist and creator behind Hues Studio. 

Art has always been a part of my life. Growing up in a creative family, I was constantly surrounded by artistic inspiration. My mother is an artist and photographer, and my father is a videographer. Watching my mom pursue her passion for art encouraged me to explore my own creativity, and that's when I discovered my love for drawing. 

I founded Hues Studio eight years ago to share my artwork and connect with others through creativity. Over the years, my passion has grown into a business that allows me to create meaningful pieces for clients while continuing to explore different artistic mediums. My work includes fine art, custom drawings, photography, graphic design, and creative commissions. 

The name Hues Studio was inspired by my last name, Hughes. I always thought it was fitting that "Hughes" and "hues" sound alike, especially since hues represent the colors that bring art to life. The name reflects both my identity and my love of creativity, color, and self-expression. 

In addition to running my business, I am actively involved in the arts. I am a member of my school's National Art Honor Society and was selected to participate in an advanced photography program that required a recommendation for admission. I enjoy every opportunity to learn, create, and grow as an artist. 

When I'm not creating artwork, you can usually find me reading, writing poems and stories, playing video games, spending time with my family or caring for my six cats and two dogs. Writing is another passion of mine, and I have been fortunate to receive recognition in several writing competitions throughout my school years.
